Jeffrey Cappola has joined Mandelbaum Salsburg PC in Roseland as member.
He focuses his practice on environmental law and real estate.
For more than 25 years, Cappola has counseled clients, including businesses and developers, through complex brownfield and landfill redevelopment projects, land use issues, and environmental compliance and permitting. He also has significant experience guiding steel and chemical manufacturers into compliance with federal and state environmental laws.
Cappola advises real estate clients on property due diligence, acquisitions and sales, financing, permitting, liability protection, environmental insurance, and cost recovery and contribution litigation related to the purchase of contaminated property.
He works with state and federal agencies to obtain land use permits for development projects in coastal areas, tidelands, flood hazard areas, wetlands and wetland mitigation banks; as well as defends clients against enforcement actions by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.
Additionally, Cappola litigates environmental insurance coverage disputes, New Jersey Spill Compensation and Control Act claims and Superfund claims.
He joins the firm from Wilentz, Goldman & Spitzer, where he was a shareholder.
