Closter-based Ericom Software, a global firm securing and connecting the digital workspace, announced technology industry veteran David Canellos has been appointed as chief executive officer.
According to a company press release, Canellos most recently held the position of senior vice president, Global Service Providers at Symantec.
In his nearly 25 years in the industry Canellos has led several cybersecurity ventures to impressive market growth and successful exits. As president and CEO he guided Perspecsys Inc. through its acquisition by Blue Coat Systems, which was subsequently acquired by Symantec. He previously led the acquisition of Cloakware, where he was president and chief operating office, by the Irdeto division of Naspers. Prior to Cloakware, Canellos held executive roles at Cramer Systems (now Amdocs), Oracle and SAIC.
“As a pioneer in developing remote browser isolation solutions as well as access technologies for the enterprise market, Ericom Software is poised for impressive growth, as organizations seeking to apply Zero Trust methodologies to web browsing learn about the airtight security that remote browser isolation provides,” said Canellos in a prepared statement. “I look forward to working with Eran [Heyman; founder, chairman and chief architect] and the entire Ericom team to spearhead widespread adoption of this and additional leading-edge cybersecurity technology solutions.”
