The firms said they intend to add 269 condo units — The Lofts at Pier Village — plus a boutique hotel and an additional 40,000 square feet of retail space. The firms also announced the addition of new retailers to the existing space.
“This new phase of Pier Village will bring unmatched quality, resort-inspired living and urban sophistication to an already beloved destination on the Jersey Shore,” Tamar Rothenberg, senior vice president of marketing for Extell, said. “This is a place where residents and visitors can come to spend time with friends and family while enjoying all of the beachfront activities and, of course, the ocean view.”
Extell and Kushner announced Beach House, a Mediterranean, organic restaurant, has joined Pier Village.
Luke’s Lobster also will open its first location in New Jersey at Pier Village.
Lululemon, Havainas, Les Canebiers, Sundaze, Booskerdoo Coffee & Baking Co., Coney Waffle, Playa Bowls, Fin Raw Bar & Kitchen, and Faustini Wines have also been announced as coming to the property.
“Pier Village is a town center, where both locals and visitors gather to eat, shop and play by the Shore throughout the year.
We’ve curated new restaurants and retailers that represent the best New Jersey and New York have to offer,” Nicole Kushner Meyer, principal at Kushner, said. “We’re thrilled to launch this next phase with unparalleled public amenities for the entire community alongside a boutique hotel and luxury residences.”
Kushner and Extell selected Minno Wasko and Hirsch Bedner Associates to carry out the construction of the hotel.
“The services and amenities at The Lofts Pier Village include concierge service, an expansive pool deck complete with a lap pool, cabanas and towel service, an outdoor lounge area with fire pits and grills, a children’s playroom, residents’ lounge, private state-of-the-art fitness center with a yoga studio, and men’s and women’s locker rooms,” the firms said in a news release. “The residences also offer on-site covered parking and bike storage.”
Melillo Bauer Associates has been selected as the landscape architect firm for both the lofts and hotel.
Construction is slated to begin in the fall. Kushner and Extell said the sales office for the condominiums will open this month.
