Fairfield digital imaging services firm buys Mass. company

Buyers Laboratory LLC, which provides test-based analytical information to the digital imaging industry, has purchased InfoTrends, a market analysis and advisory firm, from owner Questex LLC. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“We’ve long held that BLI and InfoTrends are highly complementary businesses with a shared focus on the global digital imaging industry,” Gerry Stoia, CEO and president of Buyers Laboratory, said in a prepared statement. “Combining BLI’s independent testing capabilities and exhaustive product knowledge with InfoTrends’ strategic market and research expertise is a powerful combination.”

The combination creates a global team of more than 125 subject matter experts and a portfolio of products ranging from strategic planning to product development needs, BLI said in its news release.

“InfoTrends and BLI have many shared values around client service, quality research and the excellence of our professional staff,” Jeff Hayes, president of Massachusetts-based InfoTrends, said in a statement. “We are excited about the many opportunities created by the combination of these two great companies.”
