Dig, a popular New York City-based fast casual spot serving up meals cooked from scratch, recently made its debut in New Jersey.

Located at The Village at Bridgewater Commons at 610 Commons Way, the 2,069-square-foot restaurant features a locally sourced, seasonal and vegetable-forward menu with a range of bowls, salads and sides.

With financial backers including restauranteur Danny Meyer, Dig has grown to more than 30 locations in New York, Boston and Philadelphia since its 2011 launch.

During a March 15 grand opening celebration at Dig’s new restaurant in Bridgewater, company officials, Trademark Property Co. executives and local elected leaders gathered to mark the occasion.

“We’re delighted to bring Dig to New Jersey,” said Troy Fischer, senior general manager of Trademark Property Co., manager of Village at Bridgewater Commons and the adjacent enclosed shopping center Bridgewater Commons. “So many of our guests are already familiar with its fine, quick-service offerings because they work in New York City. Now, they can get that quality and convenience close to home.”

As part of its commitment to giving back to the community, Dig plans to donate the proceeds from its first day of walk-in sales to the Raritan Food Pantry.

The restaurant is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
