The Division of Gaming Enforcement announced Monday the publication of the final chapters of regulation proposals responding to the Casino Control Act.

The Division of Gaming Enforcement announced Monday the publication of the final chapters of regulation proposals responding to the Casino Control Act.

The proposals, which were published with a notice of temporary adoption, streamline many of the previous regulations imposed on the casino industry, and open doors for new forms of gaming and gaming technology to be implemented.

According to the announcement, the new rules specifically address issues pertaining to credit and wire transfers; technical standards for slot machines, computers and other devices; and permitting use of manufacturer-shuffled cards.

The rules also address casino accounting records, financial reporting and internal control systems.

“Our focus was and continues to be on streamlining regulation while maintaining public confidence and trust in the integrity of the regulatory process and casino operations,” said David Rebuck, acting director of the Division of Gaming Enforcement, in the announcement.

Public comments on the proposed rules will be accepted through Jan. 6. The temporary adoption goes into effect Nov. 14 and lasts a maximum of 270 days.
