Downtown Rahway’s The Mint welcomed its first renters with additional move-ins scheduled for the coming weeks as leasing hits full swing at the 116-home rental building, according to development partners Fields Grade and Slokker Group.
Located in the heart of Union County, The Mint features a mix of studios, one- and two-bedroom units with monthly rents starting at $1,545.
Grand opening incentives include one-month free on a 13-month lease. The newest upscale rental to debut in Rahway, the five-story building is situated at 81 Monroe St., a commuter-friendly location steps from New Jersey Transit’s Rahway station—one of the few in the state with service on two train lines, allowing travelers to access both the Northeast Corridor and North Jersey Coast routes.

With current travel restrictions and safety precautions in place due to COVID-19, The Marketing Directors, the building’s exclusive marketing and leased agent, is offering the option of virtual tours of homes and amenities at The Mint. Interested prospects can call (732) 382-1100 or visit the property’s website for additional information.
“It’s always an exciting milestone when residents begin moving in and start transforming a building into an active environment,” said Jacqueline Urgo, president of The Marketing Directors. “This is doubly true at The Mint. The arrival of our initial renters fortifies the already energetic atmosphere in downtown Rahway which is bubbling with lifestyle options for residents to enjoy.”
“The building is a short walk from Main Street, an eclectic business corridor that offers access to hip and authentic bars, eateries, shops and everyday conveniences,” adds Nils Berten, vice president USA of The Slokker Group. “It’s a walkable urban neighborhood that’s easily commutable to New York City in just 45 minutes by train, as well as Edison, New Brunswick and the Jersey Shore.”
The Mint was designed by architect Minno Wasko, with offices in Lambertville and Newark. Apartments are enhanced by a full suite of indoor amenities including a lobby with transit screen and workspace, residents-only clubhouse, a lounge with a billiard table and individual work cubes, fully-equipped fitness center with a yoga room and fitness on demand, and a dog wash room.
