Approximately 75 million pets in the U.S. may not have access to necessary veterinary care by 2030, in part due to a shortage of veterinarians, according to a study released in September by Banfield Pet Hospital. In the Garden State, preliminary data from the New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association’s ongoing business survey just 17% of respondents thus far say they don’t need any more staff.

Organic grocery sales in the U.S. totaled a record $61.9 billion in 2020, jumping by 12.4% from 2019 and outpacing the previous year’s growth rate by more than 7%. And according to The Organic Trade Association’s 2021 Organic Industry Survey, New Jersey grocers saw the uptick firsthand.
