On Tuesday evening, New Jersey Resources announced the election of Gregory Aliff to the board of directors for the Wall-based energy company.
An executive and author, Aliff held various senior leadership positions at Deloitte LLP, including as vice chairman and senior partner overseeing the energy and resources practice, where he retired from in 2015 after nearly four decades with the company.
Over his career Aliff has provided services including accounting, financial reporting, regulatory strategy, rate case preparation, enterprise risk management and acquisition due to diligence to energy companies, New Jersey Resources said.
He is also co-author of the book, “Accounting for Public Utilities.” First published in 1983, the utility industry resource on accounting and ratemaking is updated annually.
In a statement, New Jersey Resources Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Laurence Downes described Aliff as a respected leader, and advisor, with strong financial and regulatory expertise.
“Greg’s background leading Deloitte’s energy and resources practice and advising Fortune 500 companies on financial and regulatory matters will provide valuable perspective and make him a welcome addition to our board,” Downes added.
Aliff also serves on the board for the California Water Services Group and is chair of its Audit Committee.
