Schindler Elevator Corp. named industry veteran Ray Bisson as chief executive officer for its U.S. operations, based in Morristown, the company announced Dec. 16.
Most recently, Bisson was executive director of product management for new equipment at Otis Elevator Co., where he began his career and worked for nearly 22 years, according to his LinkedIn profile.
During his tenure at Farmington, Conn.-based Otis, he held positions of increasing responsibility and led teams across a global organization to form product strategy, drive growth and improve customer satisfaction, Schindler Elevator said in the hiring announcement.
Bisson will be based out of Schindler’s U.S. headquarters in Morristown and will report to Global Chief Operating Officer Paolo Compagna.
“North America is a highly important market for Schindler. With Ray in this new role, we will further strengthen our long-term strategic priorities and our commitment to customers, our people, and the region as a whole,” Compagna said in a statement.
Bisson said he’s thrilled to join the Schindler Elevator team, adding, “I truly love this industry and have thoroughly enjoyed working closely with customers to create vertical transportation solutions to meet their needs. Schindler is an organization I have always had a great deal of respect for, particularly for the innovative product solutions they provide.”
Bisson earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and an MBA from Purdue University.
