More than 800 ex-service members and their spouses expected at career fair. The two-day Ultimate Warrior Workshop and Career Fair kicked off Wednesday at Fort Dix, in Burlington County. Veterans of all ages from all branches of services and their spouses are welcome to register for the event, which will feature more than 70 employers looking for new hires in retail, law enforcement, engineering and other positions.
Sgt. 1st Class Loranda Taylor, the event coordinator, said the career fair and workshop are open to veterans and their spouses regardless of when they served. ÂIf theyÂve ever been in the military, and they need a job, they can come here to the job fair, she said.
She said more than 1,000 attendees registered for the event. A similar event was sponsored by the Department of Defense last year, she said; Fort Dix is sponsoring this yearÂs event.
Wednesday started with a workshop for job applicants looking for tips on resume writing and interviewing skills. It runs until 5 p.m.
Curtis Consulting Group, the Army Career and Alumni Program, and the Tip of the Arrow Foundation gathered volunteers to staff the workshop.
ThursdayÂs career fair will run from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Free event registration and other information can be found online at www.dix.army.mil/jobfair.
