Franklin Electronics Hires Acquisitions Consultant

Franklin Electronic Publishers hires New York-based investment firm North Haven Partners.Franklin Electronic Publishers (Amex: FEP) today announced that New York-based investment firm North Haven Partners will help the company identify possible acquisitions of linguistic software and technology providers through its Proximity Technology division. Proximity Technology develops spelling check, grammar and thesaurus software used in desktop applications and handheld devices.

Barry J. Lipsky, CEO of Burlington-based Franklin said, “Proximity is at the core of everything Franklin does and represents one of our most leverageable growth opportunities. With globalization these opportunities are on the increase and we believe we can enhance both our revenues and profits by adding new complementary technologies to enhance our offerings to our current customer base and to apply our current and future technologies to new markets.” Shares of Franklin opened at $2.60 this morning.
