Front Row Labs launches tech startup competition with up to $1M award

Front Row Labs, a venture catalyst based in Newtown, Pa., is inviting early-stage technology companies based in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York to participate in its inaugural funding competition beginning Jan. 15.

Front Row says it will invest up to $1 million in selected companies, and provide free space and consulting in a collaborative workspace.

The company says it is providing access to capital, creative workspaces, top-tier executives, software application development, legal services, intellectual property, human resources and accounting.

Applying companies should be a new startup or an early-stage company; address or creating a large addressable market greater than $1 billion; possess a revolutionary, transformative or disruptive technology or business model; and have the potential for global opportunity.

“2020 not only begins a new decade but also a new chapter for startups and early-stage companies,” Front Row Labs Chief Executive Officer Mark Clifton said in a prepared statement. “We want to eliminate the challenges all too common to entrepreneurs and provide a more seamless experience for obtaining funding and collaborating with experienced executives and service providers who can help them be more successful and scale sooner.”

The funding competition will run from Jan. 15 through April 30 and follow a rolling submission process. Selected companies will be invited to pitch to Front Row Labs executives.

The competition is free to enter and open to entrepreneurs with early-stage technology companies.
