Somerset-based geotechnical and environmental consulting firm Geo-Technology Associates Inc. has tapped a new president and two new vice presidents.
David Zmijewski is now president of the firm, and Richard Lake and David Garbarino have been promoted to vice president, the firm announced Jan.15.
Zmijewski, now responsible for overseeing 16 office locations and 375 staff, is the fourth person to take the helm at GTA over the course of the firm’s 36-year history. His two decades at the firm have included several leadership positions including founder and principal-in-charge of GTA’s Quakertown, Pa. office; vice president for the past 17 years; and northern region executive vice president for the past two years.
Lake is responsible for managing GTA’s environmental staff and performing quality control reviews for GTA’s projects which include: soil and groundwater investigations; designing and implementing soil and groundwater remediation systems; supervising removal of underground storage tanks; evaluating vapor intrusion risk; and Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and Phase II ESAs. Lake currently oversees several large residential, commercial, and industrial projects in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Garbarino recently joined GTA as chief administrative officer, and prior to that was the northern Maryland market president at Truist (BB&T). In his new role as vice president, Dave will continue his role as CAO responsible for overseeing the financial, legal, and HR functions of the firm while participating in future expansion initiatives and business development opportunities.
