Kristin Sostowski has been inducted as president of the National Association of Women Lawyers, the nation’s oldest professional organization dedicated to the progress of women lawyers.
Sostowski is a director in the employment and labor law department of Gibbons PC in Newark.
She’s been active in the NAWL for over a decade and has served as a member of the executive board since 2011. In her new role, she will help to develop, implement and support research and programming that addresses NAWL’s dual mission of advancing both women in the legal profession and women’s rights under the law.
At Gibbons, Sostowski provides strategic counsel to clients and advises employers regarding compliance with federal and state workplace laws, pre-litigation risk avoidance, and defense of workplace-related disputes in state and federal courts and agencies.
She also co-founded and leads the firm’s higher education team, providing counsel, training, and litigation services to both public and private institutions of higher education.
