On-demand delivery service firm GoPuff confirmed Monday it will open a facility in New Jersey, a month after the state’s Economic Development Authority put $39.1 million of tax credits on the table to attract the company.
GoPuff, which calls itself a “digital convenience retailer,” will make a $43 million investment to open and operate a 299,750-square-foot technology and distribution center spanning Glassboro and Harrison in South Jersey.

The site will create more than 600 jobs and be fully operational by the end of 2019, the company added.
“As we continue to fuel the expansion of our brand, the addition of our new distribution center is important to our continued growth and success,” GoPuff Co-founder Rafael Ilishayev said in a statement. “This new distribution center will not only enhance our supply chain, but will also serve as a hub for technology developments for our business as we continue to innovate.”
GoPuff was initially on the fence to open either in New Jersey or open a 327,044-square-foot facility in Lansdale, Pa.
“Providing meaningful growth opportunities to businesses with new ideas is a principal component of my economic plan and rebuilding the innovation economy in New Jersey,” Gov. Phil Murphy said in a statement. “I am confident that GoPuff will benefit from New Jersey’s world-class location and workforce, and I congratulate them on their expansion here.”
The EDA will award $3,913,000 annually over a 10-year period provided GoPuff meets the agreed-upon job and economic-growth benchmarks.
“We are delighted that GoPuff recognizes the advantages of locating in Southern New Jersey, including its vast talent pool and access to transportation infrastructure,” NJEDA CEO Tim Sullivan said in a statement. “The NJEDA is committed attracting and retaining cutting-edge companies like GoPuff that contribute to the governor’s vision for making New Jersey the state of innovation.”
