Florham Park-based Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani LLP Partner Elizabeth Lorell has been named president of the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel, a Pennsylvania-based legal group of civil defense and corporate counsel and industry representatives from the world.

She has been an FDCC member for 13 years and previously served as secretary-treasurer.

“The legal field is changing rapidly, and I look forward to working with our more than 1,300 members in furthering the mission of this organization and ensuring our members not only stay ahead of the curve but also play leading roles in meeting the opportunities and challenges of tomorrow,” Lorell said in a statement.

In her practice at Gordon & Rees, she focuses on employment law, professional liability defense and insurance coverage and is co-chair of the firm’s e-discovery practice.

Outgoing President Don Myles will assume the role of chairman of the board of directors.
