As part of an ongoing expansion effort, gourmet toast and juice bar concept Toastique plans to launch several new locations across New Jersey.
After successfully opening spots in Hoboken and Stone Harbor, the fast casual brand expects to open at least four new stores over the next three years, starting with Chatham in June and Morristown in 2024.
Founded five years ago in Washington, D.C., Toastique aims to make healthy eating accessible and simple with its menu of gourmet toast, cold-pressed juice, smoothies, fruit bowls, café-style coffee and nitro cold brew coffee. It also offers grab-and-go items, such as salads.
Since it began franchising in 2019, the company has grown to 15 locations, including six in the D.C.-metro area, four in Colorado, two in Utah, two in New Jersey and one in Florida.
Looking ahead, Toastique has agreements signed for 62 franchise units across the country, with 20 locations set to launch during the second quarter of 2023 and 30 by the end of next year.
When it comes to the ideal communities for Toastique, Sean Keefe, the brand’s director of operations and training, said, “We are looking for high traffic, higher income areas that are an attraction for not just locals, but visitors that want to come to the area. Our real estate approach is to find end units or stand-alone properties that creates free marketing and to make our brand stand out from other surrounding businesses.”
“We believe New Jersey has a strong demographic of people that appreciate the healthy concept and lifestyle that the brand represents,” he told NJBIZ. “The economics reflect keeping our pricing on market for those current areas.”
