Grisoft Names New CEO

Smith its new CEO. Smith, co-founder and former CEO of British virtual mobile operator Dot Mobile, is moving from England to take the position. Chief technology officer Karel Obluk, who has been the acting CEO for the past year, will again focus on strategic and technical development for the 16-year-old company that claims more than 40 million worldwide users. “In the last few years AVG GRISOFT has developed from a primarily local purveyor of antivirus software to one of the leading International providers of comprehensive Internet security, protecting some 50 million computers worldwide,” said Gabriel Eichler, the company’s chairman. “This appointment is one of our key steps aiming to strengthen the ranks of senior management with more International experience.”
