Hackensack Meridian Health said Oct. 6 that Kash Patel joined the health care system as executive vice president and chief information and digital engagement officer for the network.
Patel has more than 25 years of experience in technology leadership, working within the health care industry, startups and multinational corporations.

Patel joins Hackensack Meridian Health from Penn Medicine in Philadelphia where he served as vice president and chief digital technology officer. Since 2018, Patel has led digital process innovation for the network and was responsible for technology, infrastructure and software development for the Perlman School of Medicine at Penn.
“Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Hackensack Meridian Health IT team has done an incredible job seamlessly leading team members through the network’s transition to Google Cloud,” said Patel in a prepared statement. “I look forward to being part of this talented team and helping to enhance the patient experience while advancing research and innovation.”
Prior to working at Penn Medicine, Patel served as vice president, population health and analytics for 12 years at Mount Sinai Health System in New York where he led many transformational projects. Earlier in his career, he built business-driven software solutions in various industries. He also managed global delivery teams for Fortune 100 companies.
