Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City is poised to become the latest entertainment venue to offer online sports betting.
The resort on Friday announced a 10-year partnership with Malta-based online gambling operator Kindred Group, marking its first footprint in the U.S. for online sports betting.
Hard Rock – which opened June 28 – and Kindred must now apply for a Casino Service Industry Enterprise License in New Jersey.
“Hard Rock is proud to partner with one of the fastest growing operators in the industry. We are hopeful that Kindred’s international experience and commitment to innovation will translate to a significant success in New Jersey,” said Kresimir Spajic, senior vice president of online gaming at Hard Rock International, in a prepared statement.
Sports wagering is already available in Atlantic City at Bally’s Atlantic City, Ocean Resort Casino and Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, in addition to the Monmouth Park Racetrack in Oceanport and the Meadowlands Racetrack in East Rutherford.
Earlier this month, Golden Nugget Atlantic City and Resorts Casino Hotel unveiled their in-person sportsbooks, while a venture for online and mobile sports betting between Resorts Casino Hotel and DraftKings went live.
To date, patrons have bet $57.1 million since sports betting was officially rolled out in New Jersey on June 14 at Monmouth Park.
