Harrison Urby launches newest phase, adding 381 apartments (slideshow)

Harrison Urby opened its doors in 2017, bringing more than 400 rental apartments to the Hudson County municipality.

Five years later and Harrison Mayor James Fife was back at Urby last week to cut the ribbon on the community’s latest phase, which added 381 units and social spaces located at 200 Angelo Cifelli Drive.

Urby Harrison now totals 1,060 apartments across multiple buildings.

“Urby, Ironstate Development, Pegasus Group, and Brookfield Properties have been prolific developers in Harrison and a major catalyst for the redevelopment of the waterfront,” Fife said in a prepared statement. “Their investment has delivered PILOT revenue, brought in new residents, and contributed to the renaissance of our town, which began in the 1990s.”

The new residences are comprised of studios (starting from $2,125), and one-, two- and three-bedroom layouts (starting from $2,180, $2,995 and $3,575, respectively) with immediate occupancy and limited-time leasing specials available. The property — located one block from the Harrison PATH Station and 20 minutes from lower Manhattan — offers smart technology systems like Latch keyless smart phone entry and Amazon package lockers.

“We’re excited to expand this transformative residential concept in Harrison at a time when demand for smartly-designed apartments and vibrant social spaces in urban locations near mass transit is on the rise,” said Urby founder and CEO David Barry in a statement.

“This new building introduces the next level of the Urby experience,” he added.

Urby is a joint venture between Barry, also principal at Ironstate Development, and Brookfield Properties. It operates four properties — in New York City, Jersey City and Stamford, Conn., in addition to Union — with developments planned for Newark, Dallas and Washington, D.C.
