Hudson County Community College President Chris Reber was recently named to serve on the American Association of Community Colleges Commission on Diversity, Inclusion and Equity.
Reber’s term will begin July 1, 2019, and end June 30, 2022.
AACC President and Chief Executive Officer Walter Bumphus wrote a letter to Reber stating, “We are sure that your insights and leadership will significantly contribute to the Board’s decision-making process and its ability to serve the interests of all AACC member institutions.”
Reber served a previous term on this commission as president of the Community College of Beaver County in Pennsylvania, followed by a one-year mandatory hiatus.
“I am exceedingly pleased to have been invited to serve again, which is especially timely as we pursue diversity, inclusion and equity initiatives at HCCC,” Reber said in a statement.
Located in one of the most ethnically diverse areas of the United States, Hudson County Community College students were born in 119 different countries and speak 29 different languages.
