A Texas-based health care packaging company announced Monday that it has acquired a new, 60,000-square-foot packaging facility in Pine Brook.Platinum Press Inc., which provides solutions to the pharmaceutical, medical device and animal care sectors such as labels, folding cartons, blister packaging and more, said in a news release that it will use about 55,000 square feet of space for manufacturing and operations, and 5,000 square feet for offices.
An additional 40,000 square feet of space is available for prospective expansion.
“Many of our clients’ pharmaceutical packaging components are currently being shipped into the New York/New Jersey area,” Tom Miller, CEO and president, said in a prepared statement. “Opening a New Jersey facility with the same capabilities as our Texas plant will ensure complete redundancy, reduce shipping costs, improve turnaround time and alleviate weather-related shipping/production issues. The new Pine Brook, New Jersey, location will also allow us to strengthen our position in the Northeast market and better serve our expanding customer base.”
The new facility will employ approximately 40 packaging workers and become operational in the first quarter, the company said. With digital, flexographic and lithographic printing capabilities, it will nearly double the company’s production capacity, Platinum Press added.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
