Healthy fast casual fresh&co recently opened its second outpost in New Jersey.

Located in the newly redeveloped dining hall at The Junction at Gateway Center in Newark, the concept serves a chef-inspired, locally sourced menu that offers seasonal items for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options.

Founded in 2010 amid growing consumer demand for healthier food options that are easily accessible and affordable, the New York City-based brand partners with local farmers and runs a farm on Long Island to ensure only the highest-quality fruits and veggies are used in its kitchens.

The family-owned restaurant group began franchising in 2018 and now has 14 locations open throughout New York, with an additional 30 under development and three others set to launch by the end of 2023.

“For over a decade, fresh&co has been a lifestyle brand, serving a diverse, seasonally driven chef-inspired menu,” said George Tenedios, co-founder and chief executive officer of fresh&co. “Being a New Jersey resident, our expansion into Newark at the Junction only made sense, and we’re thrilled to embed ourselves in its neighborhood and community!”

The brand unveiled its first location in New Jersey earlier this year at 21 E. Broad St. in Westfield.

At Gateway Center, fresh&co joins a dining lineup in the 100,000-square-foot retail and hospitality area that includes Dunkin’, Jersey Mike’s and Chip City.

The new spot can be found on the west side of Newark Penn Station (245-281 Market St.) and is open Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., and closed on weekends.

In addition to third-party delivery options of Uber, Doordash and Grubhub, fresh&co offers ordering options through its app, enabling customers to order directly from the restaurant and earn rewards and points.
