The Hello Kitty Café Truck will return to South Jersey this weekend, bearing all kinds of treats inspired by the iconic cartoon cat.

On Aug. 19, the bubblegum pink food and gift truck will be parked from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Cherry Hill Mall, near the Food Court entrance, selling cookies, madeleines and macaroons, along with a variety of merch, including pins, totes, hoodies, water bottles and lunchboxes.

The popular truck’s appearance coincides with a back-to-school celebration hosted by the mall’s owner, Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust (PREIT).

Scheduled to run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., “Fuel For School” will feature live music, dance entertainment, food samples, crafts, demonstrations and characters. Additional details, including information about partnering organizations, can be found here.

Moorestown Mall, also a PREIT property, will host a separate back-to-school event from 10 a.m. to noon, that will include crafts, games, a math-based mall-wide scavenger hunt and music. Click here for more specifics about the event.

Both happenings are part of the trust’s effort to ensure families have access to healthy food while in school, as well as after the bell rings. Attendees and mall-goers alike are being encouraged to make monetary or food donations in support of the campaign, according to PREIT.
