I am proud to launch this column on the first day of Women’s History Month – a full month to reflect on the often-overlooked contributions of women. Women’s History Month is a celebration of women’s contributions to history, culture, society and the business community.
The Force for Change Column will expand that celebration to showcase some of New Jersey’s finest citizens. I invite you to read about all of the innovative ways people and companies have shifted to make our state once again “Jersey Strong.” We will launch this important month by showcasing remarkable women that have groundbreaking, game-changing innovations that are sure to inspire NJBIZ readers.
Let me start by telling you a little about my journey and why writing this column is so meaningful. LWE has recognized more than 600 of New Jersey’s best and brightest women over the past decade in an effort to raise the visibility platform for diverse leaders.
At the end of 2019, the Force for Change Conference was launched with Chaka Kahn, New Jersey First Lady Tammy Murphy, CNBC’s Sue Herrera and hundreds of attendees. No one could have ever imagined that it would be the last for a while.
Given this unprecedented time in history, we chose to also honor some of New Jersey’s amazing heroes and leaders through the newly established Force for Change Awards initiative. The Force for Change honorees included both the amazing leaders who have helped us through COVID over the past year and the future visionaries who made a significant shift to pave the way for a better future for New Jersey citizens, the nation and the world.
I’ve dedicated my entire professional career to meeting, networking, and shaking hands with thousands of people throughout the state. I have been able to showcase the state’s top trailblazers for the past decade at fabulous events with rooms filled with hundreds of decision makers and influencers.
But that way of doing business came to a screeching halt in March with the arrival of the coronavirus – and let’s face it, the world is not likely to ever return exactly as it once was. Thankfully, technology has opened up new doors of opportunity and in many ways has helped us to expand our connections and increase our time efficiencies and effectiveness.
So I start a new journey with you. One that keeps us largely behind computer screens but does not dim the light of the awesomeness of the men and women we honor or the positive impact that they have made upon our great state.
Our first Force for Change interview is with Caroline Blazovsky, nationally recognized as America’s Healthy Home Expert. Caroline is a home investigator and media personality promoting healthier homes and businesses throughout the U.S. Now she is a true Force for Change as she is going to help reopen our state with a solution called Integrated Viral Protection (IVP) which will eliminate COVID-19 from all businesses and homes. Caroline explains, “No other existing air filter can catch and kill airborne COVID-19, instantaneously.”
Q. What does it mean to you to be a Force for Change in New Jersey?
A. Even though the pandemic has presented us with challenges and caused many hardships, it does give us a good feeling to be able to bring some answers. We want to see New Jersey thriving again, children back in school and residents feeling safe and secure.
As a national home expert and IAQ professional, I see a lot of products sold on the market to “supposedly” work against the virus. Unfortunately, we know that many of these products have not been tested and are not truly living up to their claims. We are thrilled to partner with IVP because their data and testing supports the elimination of the virus in air and also meets the My Healthy Home “standard of excellence.” We want to bring products and services that help our clients with environmentally friendly solutions.
Q. What is IVP and how is it a Force for Change?
A. IVP is a new technology that is FDA certified to eliminate SARS-CoV-2 in the air. It was presented at the 2021 IAQA Global Conference this year and offers 99.99% elimination of the virus in one pass through the system. IVP is a Force for Change because it has given us the data that this air purification system really works in real time application.
The technology is currently deployed in multiple mobile units of various sizes, or it can be installed into existing HVAC systems. The newest release, the T1 Travel Unit, is a personal, portable device perfect for homes, offices, airplanes and more. The Travel Unit is only 10 inches tall and 8 inches wide, providing protection without taking up too much space. IVP offers a very innovative look and can modernize any home or business while also protecting all the occupants from dangerous contaminants.
Q. Who is IVP approved by and who has tested the effectiveness of IVP catching and killing SARS-CoV-2?
A. IVP devices are permitted to be sold according to FDA guidelines. Our technology has been tested and endorsed by CPR Engineering (FDA certified), Air Balance, UTMB Galveston National Lab, Texas A&M University Engineering Experiment Station, Texas Center for Superconductivity at the University of Houston (TcSUH), and endorsed by MIT and Argonne National Lab. You can find more information about our research at research.ivpair.com.
Q. How does IVP work to kill COVID-19?
A. IVP’s patent-pending technology has been proven at the Galveston National Lab to destroy 99.99% of COVID-19, in-stantaneously with a single pass, without impacting the ambient air temperature. The core technology inside of IVP devices is a specialized heated filtration filter meeting ASHRAE standards. It also destroys anthrax spores (99.98%) in the same tests, on contact. No other existing air filter can catch and kill airborne COVID-19, instantaneously.
Q. Why is IVP stronger than other air filtration systems?
A. Our filter uses Hepa and heat to catch and kill the virus in a single pass. IVP’s biodefense filter system is the only proven technology to kill 99.99% of airborne COVID-19, anthrax spores (99.98%) and other airborne pathogens, such as influenza, rhinovirus and other pandemic causing biological species.
Q. Who can use IVP?
A. Anyone. We have mobile units for personal use, room sized units for offices, school rooms, restaurants & clinical settings, venue sized units that could be used in cafeterias, lobbies, hotels, theatres, concert halls. We are also completing corporate HVAC retrofits. IVP has a solution for everyone to get back to work and activities safely.
Q. How much does IVP cost?
A. Costs estimate from $1000 for personal and travel size units to $19,500 for large units for schools, hotels and hospitals. Retrofitting the technology into your buildings HVAC varies in cost depending on size of the space. IVP was used at the 2021 Superbowl and currently operates in hotels, schools, restaurants and medical facilities.
Q.What is your background and how are you aligned with IVP in New Jersey?
A. I am the Founder and CEO of My Healthy Home in Whitehouse Station and we have signed a distributorship with IVP to offer this new technology to the Garden State. It will be the first technology of this type to ever be used to purify air in homes and buildings. This technology can be utilized as a free standing mobile unit (stand alone purifier) or the technology can be retrofitted into an HVAC system. Our company My Healthy Home is also looking to introduce and supply IVP to New Jersey HVAC companies and help them install a proven filtration system to eliminate SARS-CoV-2 which contributes Covid-19. We have put together a team to work with and educate New Jersey businesses and home owners to help correct this pandemic and also prevent outbreaks in the future from flu or other biologics.
Q. How can people get more information or see an IVP Demo?
A. I’m excited to be the keynote speaker on Friday, March 5 at noon for the Leading Women Entrepreneurs Health and Wealth series. If you attend the event we are giving away a $1000 IVP T1 mobile air-purification device.
At the virtual event, I will present a demo of the FDA approved Integrated Viral Protection System that is proven to kill COVID; tips on how to keep you, your families and employees safe and how to create a healthy living space; and information on how you can test your home and business for toxins and how to prevent Covid-19.
