Hill International, a global construction risk management company based in Marlton, announced Monday that it will be providing the Republic of Kosovo with its services for a highway project. The five-and-a-half year contract, which Hill said is valued at approximately $9.2 million, calls for Hill to oversee work on the Pristina-Hani i Elizit Highway, or Route 6.
The 37-mile highway connects one of two important trans-European corridors. The $778 million project will connect Pristina, the capital city of Kosovo, and Skopje, the capital city of Macedonia, reducing travel time by more than half.
“The existing Route 6 between Pristina and Macedonia is a rural route with low capacity, few services and poor security conditions,” John A. Arnold, senior vice president and managing director (Europe) for Hill’s Project Management Group, said in a prepared statement. “The new Route 6 will significantly improve travel conditions and positively impact the region’s economy.”
