NJDOT commissioner elected to IBTTA board

International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association reps toll facility owners, operators worldwide

“I look forward to using my experience to address the many challenges and opportunities facing the transportation industry as well as learning from others and applying solutions and best practices that we can use here in New Jersey,” NJDOT Commissioner Diane Gutierrez-Scaccetti said.

The International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association elected New Jersey Department of Transportation Commissioner Diane Gutierrez-Scaccetti as its second vice president, the organization announced Wednesday.

IBTTA is the worldwide association for the owners and operators of toll facilities and the businesses that serve tolling. Founded in 1932, IBTTA has members in more than 20 countries on six continents. Its members are implementing innovative user-based transportation financing solutions to address the critical infrastructure challenges of the 21st century.

Gutierrez-Scaccetti was elected in September 2019 in Nova Scotia, Canada, during a meeting of more than 800 transportation leaders from 23 countries. They discussed innovative technologies, policies, funding options, and business practices to provide greater mobility for drivers.

A native of New Jersey, Gutierrez-Scaccetti is a transportation professional with more than 30 years in the industry, and 36 years in government service.
