The Independent Pharmacy Alliance (IPA), a trade and pharmacy Group Purchasing Organizations (GPO) based in Cranbury, announced the appointment of John Giampolo Jr. as executive vice president.
IPA serves more than 3,150 independent retail pharmacies in the United States.
A founding partner in TSC Solutions Inc., Giampolo has managed a team of consultants along with 30 plus staff members who designed, created and implemented software solutions for many industries including distribution, manufacturing, professional services and health care.
Later, as chief technology officer of Perspecta – a company focused on health care technology solutions – he oversaw the development of multiple new software products for clients ranging from large insurance carriers to small third-party administrators.
“In addition to continuing the important work IPA has been doing for independent pharmacy for 31 years, my goal as EVP is to also develop new and innovative ways to support independent pharmacy owners by enhancing IPA’s role as a resource, advocate and partner with and for its members as well as strengthen our relationship with our contract suppliers,” said Giampolo.
IPA’s mission is to represent independent community pharmacy and to provide business solutions and advocacy services to help independent pharmacies reduce their cost of goods, increase financial growth and help them continue providing quality patient care.
