North Jersey commercial real estate brokers got a preview of new tool that one broker said will change the way they do business.
The CoStarGo iPad app was debuted by CoStar Group CEO and founder Andrew Florance at an event Monday morning in Hanover’s Whippany neighborhood. The app does not go nationwide until Aug. 15, but North Jersey brokers who use CoStar Group’s suite of online products were able to access the product for free today.
“It’s a total game changer,” said Jeremy Neuer, senior vice president of brokerage services for CB Richard Ellis in New Jersey. “The iPad app allows us to serve our client better by being able to do what we do in the boardroom out in the field.”
The app, which uses GPS, allows the user to pull up owner, tenant and leasing information for the buildings around them from the CoStar database. CoStar tracks 3.5 million commercial real estate properties.
Photos, comparable sales data and contact information are also part of the app’s functionality.
“Standing on the ground looking at the buildings around you online is a fundamentally different way of doing business,” Florance said to the group. “And, it’s fun.”
