Jersey Central Power & Light announced Monday it has completed a $10 million substation expansion project in West Amwell Township.The expansion will benefit 75,000 customers in Hunterdon and Mercer counties, adding resiliency and reliability to its electric system.
The project includes:
“Completing this project in advance of the high-demand summer season adds resiliency to the transmission system now and helps meet the growing demand for electricity in the long-term,” Tony Hurley, JCP&L vice president of operations, said in a prepared statement. “The project was completed in a timely manner thanks to successful collaboration with local, county and state officials, ultimately benefiting local residents and businesses.”
