Executives from The Hampshire Cos. and Claremont Cos. joined New Jersey City University President Sue Henderson and Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop on Wednesday to celebrate the groundbreaking for RIVET 2, a Jersey City luxury apartment development at University Place in the city’s West End neighborhood.

The groundbreaking for RIVET 2 signals the next phase of a mixed-use master redevelopment plan to transform Jersey City’s West End neighborhood into University Place.

University Place will total eight buildings and 1,000 new residential units with access to more than 120,000 square feet of retail, a performing arts center, cafes, theaters and green space.
