Jersey City welcomes new dental practice

Abra Dental announced March 17 that it is opening a Jersey City location March 22 at 165 Ocean Ave.
Open Monday through Saturday, the practice will offer comprehensive dental services and will feature general dentists, certified pediatric dentists and orthodontists.
The Greenville neighborhood office is located near the Infinity Institute and on the NJ Transit No. 6 bus (Merritt Street Via Ocean Ave) route.
“We are thrilled to open our doors to the Jersey City community and provide families with exceptional dental care,” Abra Dental CEO and co-founder Dr. Michael Skolnick said in a statement. “Our team of highly qualified professionals is dedicated to ensuring each patient receives personalized care in a warm and friendly atmosphere.”
Abra Dental Jersey City is inviting community members to a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11 a.m. April 17. Mayor Steven Fulop, Ward A Councilwoman Denise Ridley and other city council members will be on hand to mark the occasion.
“Abra Dental’s commitment to providing quality, affordable dental care to our residents is admirable,” Fulop said. “We are delighted to welcome Abra Dental to the Greenville neighborhood and are grateful for their investment in our community.”
Ridley added that the additional office “is greatly needed.”
Skolnick and his wife, Brooke, who also is a dentist, founded Abra Dental’s parent company, formerly known as The ChildSmiles Group, in 2008. Now called Abra Health, the company said it plans to launch multiple large-footprint multi-specialty dental and pediatric primary care clinics across northern New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania this year.
Abra Health, which focuses on growing in underrepresented communities, has more than 700 employees, and its ownership and leadership teams are mostly made up of dentists.
