JLL is expanding its retail brokerage services in New Jersey, it said recently, bringing on board veteran retail real estate executive Marta Person Villa as a senior vice president.Over the course of 2016, JLL has acquired several retail services firms, it said, including Big Red Rooster and Huntley, Mullaney, Spargo & Sullivan Inc. The acquisitions have bolstered JLL’s retail offerings, which include the JLL Project and Development Services and JLL Property Management units.
“JLL continues to expand its services to better serve clients involved in all aspects of retail throughout New Jersey,” Robert Kossar, JLL’s executive managing director and market director for New Jersey operations, said in a prepared statement. “The market’s retail sector is undergoing a transformation prompted by the growth of e-commerce and shifts in consumer buying and shopping preferences. JLL is positioning itself to remain at the forefront of this shifting landscape in order to fully support our retail clients.”
Villa’s hiring is the latest step in that strategic growth plan, JLL said. She has more than 25 years of experience in New Jersey retail, specializing in landlord representation, occupier site selection and investment property acquisition and disposition.
Prior to joining JLL, she was vice president with the retail services group of a major New Jersey brokerage, representing major tenants and overseeing a diverse leasing portfolio. Her experience also includes leadership posts with municipalities and downtown alliances.
JLL has New Jersey offices in Parsippany, Metropark and East Rutherford.
