A joint venture between Elberon Development Group and The Avidan Group LLC broke ground recently on a 90,000-square-foot warehouse and distribution facility in Elizabeth. The two Elizabeth-based partners said the project at 925 Julia St., located within the Elizabeth Logistics Center, is dividable into two units of 45,000 square feet each. Pilot Freight Services, a global provider of transportation and logistics services, has signed on to lease half of the building, the joint venture said.
The building is scheduled for completion in September.
“Today’s sophisticated industrial users are looking for modern warehouse space that provides immediate access to a highly skilled labor force and proximity to major ports and airports,” Elberon Vice President Terry Armstrong said in a prepared statement. “Elizabeth Logistics Center not only possesses those attributes, but also offers abundant trailer parking, an amenity few can offer in the region.”
This development follows another build-to-suit project the joint venture is working on in the Elizabeth Logistics Center. This project, a 140,000-square-foot freezer warehouse at 900 Fairmount Ave., is slated for use by Seafrigo Cold Storage.
Elberon also built the 175,000-square-foot refrigerated warehouse in Elizabeth that serves as Seafrigo’s U.S. headquarters.
