Cookie Cutters Haircuts for Kids has announced it will open two new salons in New Jersey on the heels of opening a location in Livingston.
The Livingston location is New Jersey’s fifth, after Edgewater, Mahwah, Spotswood and North Plainfield.
“Haircuts should be a fun experience for every child and a stress-free trip for parents,” said Neetu Bhandari, who owns the haircuttery with her husband Arvind. “Cookie Cutters is the perfect salon that appeals to every child’s desire of play while getting a difficult task accomplished. Our salon takes the hassle out of haircuts, and provides a wonderful experience for everyone.”
The Bhandaris are also the owners of the two not-yet-opened locations.
Cookie Cutters emphasizes kid-friendliness with in-store playgrounds, TVs and video games for both kids and parents to play. When it’s time to sit down for a haircut, children sit in unique chairs shaped like race cars, motorcycles, firetrucks and airplanes.
Additionally, every single stylist is trained to work with special needs children.
“Many times, kids with special needs cannot sit still for a haircut and parents struggle to find a patient stylist to trim their child’s hair; a busy salon can make them feel overstimulated and anxious, and they can be frightened by the noises scissors make. Not to mention, children are just wary of strangers in general,” said Arvind in a statement. “We want to make difficult haircuts for kids a thing of the past.”
