Kathleen Baker pled guilty in U.S. District Court in Trenton on Tuesday to using her access to Bathgate, Wegener & Wolf‘s bank accounts to embezzle $1.1 million over the course of six years.
Baker admitted she wrote checks from the Lakewood law firm’s accounts to her personal accounts in order to pay credit card debt. Baker also used a fake company to open a bank account to hide the transfer of money.
Baker faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine of $250,000 for pleading guilty to one count of wire fraud. Her sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 20, when she will also have to pay restitution.
