Lawmakers honored the Statewide Hispanic of Chamber of Commerce, noting that the chamber has contributed upwards of $20 billion of economic activity for New Jersey.
“The Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey has created innumerable opportunities for individuals from these communities to achieve the American Dream as successful business owners,” Sen. Nellie Pou, D-35th District, who chairs Legislative Latino Caucus, said in a statement.
Lawmakers presented the chamber with a resolution at the beginning of the Sept. 12 Senate voting session.
“As a not-for-profit organization for over 30 years, SHCCNJ has become the voice of the 119,000 Hispanic-owned businesses” in the state, the chamber said.
“The chamber is the premier vehicle to access the Latino community and its formidable purchasing power,” the chamber added.
