Level Up MD Urgent Care will open its first center in Bloomfield on Oct. 11 at 1 p.m. The company plans to open centers throughout underserved communities.
Urgent Cares are important in the community because they provide a more cost-effective treatment than emergency rooms for non-life-threatening emergencies, according to Debt.org.
“I believe urgent care is the best way to treat those who have suffered waiting for six hours to treat a broken arm. An urgent care would be able to see that same patient in an hour. I believe they provide prompt and easy access for the most vulnerable communities,” said the Rev. Bolivar Flores, vice president of the New Jersey Coalition of Latino Pastors and Ministers, in a prepared statement on the opening. “I hope that insurance companies will be able to partner with our network of urgent care centers.”
Level Up MD Urgent Care was founded by Mordy Getz, who most recently was chief executive officer of Citywide Urgent Care in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Dr. Sampson Davis, a well-known doctor and frequent guest on medically-focused newscasts, is Level Up MD Urgent Care’s medical director.
Located at 322 Glenwood Ave. in Bloomfield, this Level Up MD Urgent Care facility is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
