Piscataway-based LIXIL Americas, a company that sells water and housing products within the brands American Standard, GROHE and DXV, released a study that found the world needs plumbers.
LIXIL Americas worked with market research organization Farnsworth Group to conduct a survey to assess the current state of careers in plumbing.
The survey found that 90 percent of plumbers are satisfied with their careers, 49 percent of people believe plumbers do not earn much money, 87 percent of plumbers are satisfied with their annual salaries, and that 47 percent of college graduates with debt indicated they would have chosen a different career if they had known the benefits of a career in trades.
The goal of the study was to understand the obstacles and challenges of attracting young adults into the plumbing profession, identify general consumer perceptions of plumbers, and analyze the benefits of becoming a plumber.
