The New Jersey Business & Industry Association added a new lobbyist – Kaufman Zita Group staffer Alexis Bailey – to its government affairs team.
In her new role, Bailey joins the team as director of government affairs, the NJBIA said on July 12. She’ll work alongside other known presences in New Jersey politics, NJBIA Chief Government Affairs Officer Chrissy Buteas and NJBIA Vice Presidents of Government Affairs Ray Cantor and Christopher Emigholz.
Bailey, a former intern at the NJBIA, previously volunteered or worked for a number of Republican organizations throughout her career, according to her LinkedIn profile.
She interned for the Republican National Committee over the summer in 2019, and volunteered for the unsuccessful 2017 gubernatorial campaign of former Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli, a Republican now challenging Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy for his seat in November.
“She is keenly aware of NJBIA’s mission to advance New Jersey’s business climate and we know through her instincts, passion and hard work she will help us continue to advance that mission,” reads a statement from Michele Siekerka, president and chief executive officer of the NJBIA, who described Bailey as a “rising star.”
