Local artists can pitch their work to be considered for the exterior of Green Urban, a luxury lifestyle community in Guttenberg being developed by NR Living, a subsidiary of National Realty Investment Advisors.
The contest opened up on Feb. 15.
Professionals, middle schoolers and high schoolers can put their artwork in the running to be reproduced, mural-size, for the outside of the Green Urban building; and the winner will receive $5,000.
Three local judges including Guttenberg Arts Director Matt Barteluce will select and announce the winner at the Green Urban’s groundbreaking event on April 30.
“We are so excited to able to support local Guttenberg artists in this way,” said Glenn La Mattina, SVP of Operations and Properties with NR Living in a prepared statement. “Our area artists provide the community with inspiration, enthusiasm, and character. We hope that by displaying their artwork on the new Green Urban building, we can further embody the vibrant lifestyle of the community.”
Interested artists should create artwork that embraces any subject matter while also incorporating the “Green Urban” logo. Pieces should be submitted as JPG and must be at least 768 pixels on the longest side and not exceed 1200 pixels.
A complete set of rules and guidelines are available online.
“Our main mission at Guttenberg Arts is to give our local artists the exposure they deserve,” said Matt Barteluce, director of Guttenberg Arts. “Art is such an important part of our community and, after a challenging year, we are happy to be partnering with NRIA to expand on that mission.”
When Green Urban, located at 6903 Adams St. in West New York, is completed, the nine-story luxury building will include a full entertainment roof deck overlooking the Hudson River, a gym and Peloton room, built-in advanced and eco-friendly technologies, and safety designs and features.
Deadline for submissions is April 15 at 4 p.m.
