Louis Berger unit gets 21.6M fuel facility contract

Morristown-based professional services company Louis Berger said Tuesday that its Hawthorne Services division has won a $21.6 million, 19-year operations and maintenance fuels contract from Defense Logistics Agency Energy.Under the contract, Hawthorne will design, build, operate and maintain two contractor-owned and –operated fuel facilities and four government-owned and contractor-operated facilities at Fort Bliss in Texas.

“Hawthorne Services has extensive experience building and operating fuel facilities for DLA Energy and is well-positioned to increase the installation’s operational capabilities and continue its long history of excellence,” Andrew Bailey, president of Louis Berger’s services operating company, said in a prepared statement. “We are very excited to extend our 16-year relationship with DLA Energy.”

Hawthorne will begin design work in April and construction in July, Louis Berger said. The facility is scheduled to be operational in February 2016.
