Home improvement retailer Lowe’s Cos. Inc. is launching a pilot of an in-store kids’ birthday party program at 10 locations across the U.S., including one in New Jersey.
The Build A Birthday experience, which expands on Lowe’s successful monthly workshop offering for children, is aimed at “inspiring the next generation of builders while giving parents a comprehensive one-stop party solution,” the North Carolina-based company said in a Jan. 19 press release.
Locally, the offering is available to book at Lowe’s in North Bergen on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Packages, which start at $349, include do-it-yourself project kits for up to 20 children and can be upgraded to include pizza, drinks and desserts as well as party favors, like t-shirts, backpacks and water bottles. Each party will last two hours and be led by a Lowe’s employee who will give attendees “practical- and hands-on knowledge in a fun, in-store environment,” the company said.
“Home improvement is about the whole family and that’s why we have Weekending at Lowe’s events every Saturday at our stores, including our kids’ workshops that help us feel connected to our littlest DIYers,” said Jen Wilson, senior vice president, Enterprise Brand and Marketing. “And this launch is a natural extension of that relationship – not only do we want to inspire future builders, but we want DIY – and Lowe’s – to be an integral part of family milestones and memories.”
Additionally, the retailer is offering $100 Lowe’s gift cards to the first 50 parties booked through April 17. Following the celebration, the host must complete an online survey by May 1 in order to be eligible to receive the gift card, Lowe’s said.
