Global luxury group Kering on Wednesday announced it will develop a new operations center in Wayne—the construction of which, the company said, marks the second largest structure in the Passaic County town.
The repair and distribution center under development on a nearly 32-acre property at 150 Totowa Road will replace the company’s current facility in Secaucus and serve as the North American center of operations for Kering.
The building, set to open in 2020, will house a 770,000-square-foot distribution center, 80,000 square feet of office space and a 17,500-square-foot product repair center.
Kering said it will apply for LEED Gold certification for the building upon its completion.
With new investments in the U.S., Asia and Italy, Kering said it is embarking on a “substantial reorganization and streamlining of its current logistics footprint.”
Kering manages the development of brands including Gucci, Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta, Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen and more. In 2018, Kering had nearly 35,000 employees and revenue of €13.7 billion ($15.4 million).
Cushman & Wakefield’s team of Stan Danzig, Jules Nissim, Stephen Sander and Stephen Elman represented the landlord, Peykar Family Properties of Wayne.
