A trio of Lakewood-based companies forged a strategic alliance in September, expanding their services under the Magnico banner.
According to a announcement from full service construction management company Magnico, the coalition with Newlines Engineering & Survey and Alpine Air allows it to offer clients a full scope of engineering and pre-development services – including mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC – delivered from one company.
Magnico founder Moshe Braude serves as chief operating officer, managing day-to-day operations, while Newlines COO Josh Schmuckler serves as CEO of Magnico. Financial terms of the arrangement were not disclosed.
The alliance offers construction management; design and build; disaster recovery and mitigation; general contracting; owners’ representation services in multiple sectors, including government, health care, industrial, institutional, office and retail; and more.
“We were ready to expand as a company and the opportunity to work with Newlines and Alpine Air presented itself,” said Braude. “Magnico’s philosophy is centered on delivering unparalleled service, built on technology, service, clarity and communication. Alongside this commitment, Magnico, Newlines and Alpine Air prioritize delivering top-tier work.”
Magnico pointed to Lakewood’s fast growth and central location as boons to its business. The alliance also has offices in Florida and Connecticut, allowing it to serve the entire East Coast, with a current focus on the Garden State, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Maryland.
Magnico said it recently completed 100,000 square feet of design and build projects in the health care space. It’s currently managing construction on a ground-up, 44-unit multifamily development in Connecticut.
Newlines’ recent work includes the 240-acre Cedar Bridge office, hotel and retail redevelopment in Lakewood.
“I’ve long believed that a project’s success hinges on its pre-construction phase,” said Braude. “The more services we can manage from the outset, the greater the likelihood of achieving cost-effectiveness across multiple aspects of the project, from execution to finances. Our union with Newlines and our affiliated MEP companies gives Magnico an edge in the competitive construction management process.”
