Mandelbaum Barrett PC will open a new office in Lyndhurst, expanding its operations in northern New Jersey.
Firm chairman Barry Mandelbaum said that he hopes to open the new location on March 1, with Bart Mongelli, Anthony Arnone and Roberto Migliorelli, real estate partners who recently joined the firm from DeCotiis, FitzPatrick, Cole & Giblin LLP.
“We’ve always thought of ourselves as New Jersey’s law firm because we really don’t have any offices outside New Jersey. We’re presently in Monmouth County, Middlesex County, Union County, and our office in Roseland is based on the Essex-Morris border,” Mandelbaum said.
“We always wanted to be in Bergen but now with the three gentleman from DeCotiis, they have strong roots in Hudson and Bergen county [sic]. It’s always our view not to open an office and put someone who is estranged in that area. It’s much better to open an office with someone who has clients in that locale,” he said.
The firm started discussions with previous DeCotiis attorneys prior to settling on the Lyndhurst office.
The new office, located at 518 Stuyvesant Ave., Suite 301, is 1,500 square feet. It has office space, a conference room and a reception area.
On the new attorneys, Mandelbaum said that they’re a good fit for the firm.
“Their personalities, their way of doing business, their outlook of how to treat clients, all match up,” he said. “We thought they were a perfect fit based on who they are. We always hire people we think are are going to stay with us and fit in very well with us.”
Mandelbaum has been at the firm since joining his father, one if its founders, in the 1960s. Several attorneys have been members of the firm for around 40 years, including Joe Discenza, who joined in the 1970s.
