This name change, the firm’s first in more than 40 years, recognizes the contributions of Chief Executive Officer William Barrett, who has led the firm for the last four years.
Other name partner Barry Mandelbaum remains chairman of the board and the head of the firm’s real estate practice.
The firm recently added a chief culture officer. According to an announcement, this deliberate move “signals the firm’s prioritization of its sacred culture that celebrates accomplishments and differences and understands the value of regular team-building events for all attorneys and staff alike.”
Initiatives include wellness Wednesdays, breakfasts with the CEO, firm trivia events, holiday decorating contests, the launch of a new firm intranet, and an associate development retreat.
Since the firm name was last changed 42 years ago, just four of the more than 30 equity partners have left the firm in lateral moves to other firms. Since Barrett became CEO, the firm has expanded and grown significantly in other ways, including with the National Dental Law Center, spearheaded by Barrett. The firm’s dental, veterinary, health care and emerging markets groups have grown, and cannabis, elder law and special needs practices have been added.
The firm has also strategically grown its attorney count under Barrett, specifically with eight attorneys and six staff in the health care group, which has become one of its largest and most rapidly growing practice areas.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
