Mars Wrigley’s Snickers brand chocolate bars will once again team up with video game publisher Take-Two Interactive subsidiary 2K Sports to serve as joint presenting partners of WrestleMania.
In a Feb. 22 press release, World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. (WWE) announced the renewal of its sponsorship deals with the Hackettstown-based candymaker and the developer behind the latest installment in the WWE video game series, WWE 2K23.
WrestleMania, which is WWE’s signature annual event, will be held April 1-2 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif.
After the success of last year’s co-promotion between Mars and 2K – which marked the first time two brands served as presenting partners for WrestleMania – WWE extended the arrangement ahead of the event.
As part of the deal, both brands will be showcased during WWE’s flagship television programs, “Monday Night Raw” on USA Network and “Friday Night SmackDown” on Fox, as well as during the “WrestleMania Kickoff Show” and “WrestleMania” each day on Peacock.
The agreement also includes custom digital and social content on WWE.com and WWE’s YouTube channel, which is one of the most viewed sports channels in the world, according to the press release.
Snickers – which has helped power WrestleMania for nearly a decade – “is thrilled to be back as one of the presenting sponsors,” said Mars Wrigley’s director of media, Ray Amati.
“Over the years we have seen the passion of WWE fans and know they are always hungry for high quality entertainment, which we look forward to delivering alongside our partners,” he said. “Snickers will continue to be a solution for fans when they feel out of sorts before, during or after WrestleMania.”
“We’re excited to come back even stronger and co-present WrestleMania 39 with Snickers as we tag team for WWE’s biggest event of the year,” said Alfie Brody, vice president of global marketing strategy at 2K. “Like our WWE 2K23 cover Superstar, John Cena, we’ll ‘Never Give Up’ as we take on SNICKERS head-to-head and provide fans with engaging content leading up to the main event matches.”
